Sick or hurt in Curaçao: where should you go?

Call 912 for an ambulance. Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) in Otrobanda is the only hospital with an ICU and has a decompression chamber for divers. For everyday problems, tourists use MedPoint (daily 8 am to 8 pm, house calls, Dutch and English) or the after-hours GP post in the evening and on weekends.

Where do tourists see a doctor in Curaçao?

How much does a doctor cost for tourists in Curaçao?

You pay yourself and claim from your insurer. At MedPoint, evenings, weekends and house calls cost more than a clinic visit.

Which hospital is closest to the resorts?

Nearly all emergency care goes to the CMC in Otrobanda, the only hospital with an ICU. The ambulance crew or doctor decides where you go.

Is there a decompression chamber for divers?

Yes, at the CMC, with room for 10 people. After a dive accident, call 912.

        Are pharmacies open on Sunday?

Regular pharmacies close Sunday. Duty pharmacies (Botika na Warda) are always open; your hotel desk knows which.
