Good to know

  • The guilder became the Caribbean guilder (XCG) on March 31, 2025, at 1 to 1 with the old NAf/ANG; Digicel still lists some prices in ANG.
  • Digicel+ asks for a deposit when you sign up; ask how much before you commit.
  • Working from home? Keep a mobile data plan or Starlink as backup: Flow had an island-wide outage of almost a full day in June 2025.
  • You need a passport or other valid ID to register a local SIM.
  • SIM cards at the airport are often pricier than in town or at supermarket service desks.
  • Ask Qonèkt whether your neighborhood is connected yet; the rollout started in Vidanova and St. Joris.

Frequently asked questions

Which internet providers are there in Curaçao?

Flow and Digicel+ are the two main home internet providers. Qonèkt (Aquatel) received a fiber license in June 2025, and Starlink has been officially available since October 14, 2026. Teramobil holds a mobile license but had to be up and running by the end of 2025.

How much does fiber internet cost in Curaçao?

Digicel+ fiber costs XCG 209 a month for 250/100 Mbps with 84 TV channels, up to XCG 399 for 600/250 Mbps (tax included, October 2026).

Is Starlink available in Curaçao?

Yes. Starlink officially launched in Curaçao on October 14, 2026. Before that, people used kits bought in the Netherlands or the US on a travel plan. Check Starlink's site first to see if your address can be served.

Which provider has the fastest internet in Curaçao?

According to Ookla (first half of 2025), Digicel+ had the fastest fixed internet, averaging 86 Mbps down and 47 up. On mobile, Flow (Chippie) was fastest at about 39 Mbps.

Is Chippie the same as Flow?

Yes. Chippie was UTS's mobile brand. Liberty Latin America bought UTS in 2019 and rebranded it as Flow. Chippie is now Flow's prepaid brand.

How much is a prepaid data plan in Curaçao?

At Digicel, 2 GB for 1 day is XCG 6.50, 8 GB for 30 days is XCG 65 and 35 GB for 30 days is XCG 100. At Flow/Chippie, an extra 1 GB is XCG 10.

Why do so many people complain about Flow?

Flow had an island-wide outage on June 14, 2025, and weeks of interruptions in early 2026, partly from a platform migration that left about 7,000 customers on the old system. Regulator RAC demanded an explanation from Flow in 2025.

How much is a Digicel monthly mobile plan?

Digicel plans run from XCG 95 a month (10 GB) to XCG 235 a month (80 GB, unlimited calls including international).
